Story Ideas – Vote
I’ve been pretty busy with werk lately. Took an extra shift at the bar this weekend, so I’ve slept very little, so I’ve had limited time to write, but wanted to get something out there. Posting a writing exercise I completed back in November after a few whiskies at the Rhino. Would like for you all to vote on which idea I should revisit next week as the story of the week. Please leave comments. Thanks.——
- Sexy Sadie lolled luxuriously in the hammock, her naked knees painfully exposed to my delicate eyes.
- J Todd drew a penis in the foam of my Guinness.
- Heather always was overly dramatic.
- Spoons rattled back and back on the table gently.
- Trains crashed across constant tracks out my window soundlessly as Dad drove the Dodge Dart endlessly across the barren-ness that was Iowa.
- Basketballs bounced painfully from the young boy’s chest before he crumpled on the playground and the bully stood over him again.
- I’m not quite sure how to say it sometimes, so I end up keeping quiet, listening to the others across the din of the bar.
- The pool cue felt heavy in his hands and he knew he had chosen well.
- Fluorescent light floods empty cubes as she made her way to her desk whereupon she discovered she had been locked out of the system and she knew that the cowards had let her go finally.
- The sand cuddled in around my toes when the water crashed into my legs and I laughed feeling the soft shelled crabs digging their holes under my feet.
- Charlie Brown shouldn’t kick the football.
- Dad sounded tired on the phone.
- The cigarette ash fell into his lap as he tried to understand what she’d said to him.
- The bathwater had gone cold but she didn’t notice.
- My ears are ringing with what you whispered.

I vote for “Charlie Brown shouldn’t kick the football.”
Considering he never actually kicks the football this statement can only be from another parallel universe, so I expect you’ll have a lot of fun with this one.
I like the last one “My ears are ringing with what you whispered”. I’d like to see what could make your ears ring…
