I’ve had an idea for this painting for a couple of months now. I finished it yesterday. It’s about 33″x34″. Let me know what you think in the comments. a perfect representation of our country and what we stand for at least for the last 40 years. the ribbon in the blue square is classic. those stupid ribbons. as if putting up a ribbon anywhere provides any level of help to the person(s) needing help. I would take the SUV=WMD portion off the main body and make it a secondary flyer.

@DL, Glad you like it. I was wondering about the SUV=WMD piece of it, and my jury is still out, but I appreciate the opinion.

I like and agree with the concept, but I wonder if the equation is making it too easy for people. And too likely to provoke disagreement, rather than thoughtfulness?

@Patia, I don’t know if the equation is making it “too easy” for people, because I think the message is pretty clear without the equation. “Making it too easy” might be inaccurate. “Beating them over the head” could be a better summary. Because of that, and because of your last statement about disagreement vs. thoughtfulness, I took it off. I figured if I didn’t like it without the equation, I could always put it back. I’ve been looking at it for a few days without the equation, and I like it better. Come down to the alley to see it in person this First Friday. I’ll post about that more in depth later this week.

@dl’the purpose of the ribbons aren’t for helping people idiot, but merely a way to keep an awareness of the situation in iraq

RIP No offense meant marc, but I liked the origional one that was on the graffiti wall a few years ago.The spray cans gave it a raw appearance and as Patia stated,it kept ppl wondering without the equation.Consume fits our counntry in every aspect, not just the way we devour fossil fuels.still creative though good piece

@RIPsalcido No offense taken. Glad there is discussion. And glad you liked the one that was up on the wall. I liked it too. Not better, just different. Post a comment
