pallet Tin Ten Well Tray Well Worn

Lately, when I’ve been painting, I’ve been using a piece of glass as a palette because I’ve been unable to find my actual palette. It’s a cheapie throwaway I got from Ruppel’s Art Supply in Akron a long time ago. I think I paid fifty cents for it, and I guess it is intended to be used for watercolors, but I’ve used it for both watercolors and acrylics.

Guess I’ll have to continue using a stray piece of glass from the looks of the pallet. Found it last night as I was getting ready to do some more painting. the next one I get will be solvent-resistant plastic.

I wrote about the ongoing drive to build a performing and arts center in Missoula before. Sounds like it’s still in the tentative works. From The Missoulian: The Missoula Community Performing Arts Center still might come to life on the Riverfront Triangle. Mayor John Engen offered the planned $60 million project a reprieve and some Missoula City Council members a surprise with an announcement Monday that a developer had expressed interest in the site – and favored reserving land for the cultural center. home ondeck3 On Deck III Recap

This year marked the third consecutive year that The Missoula Skatepark (MoBASH) has had a successful fundraiser featuring art as it’s main element. ONDECK is an event that enables supporters of art and supporters of skateboarding to come together for a common cause and celebrate together while raising money for the newly built skatepark in Missoula. From the website: “It’s for sure now….ONDECK will always be a part of Missoula’s Fall art scene. We at the MSA have a blast organizing this event and plan to keep this up as our primary fundraiser. This year went smoother than ever and with over 50 boards up for auction, we were able to raise over $5500 to benefit skateboarding in Montana.”

Sounds good. Hopefully, I can be one of the contributing artists next year.

Even though the event has passed, you can still view a gallery of the decks that were featured this year and in years past, or you can head over to the main site to learn about other ways to support MoBASH.
